The record may not reflect it, but Notre Dame is flirting with danger, clinging to a resume that looks underwhelming on paper after a loss to BYU. Luckily, a win over the Miami Hurricanes would skyrocket the Fighting Irish's odds of making the playoffs, heightening the excitement in South Bend for College GameDay’s Game of the Week.

Here are my favorite betting angles for Miami vs. Notre Dame.

Miami vs. Notre Dame Betting Odds For Week 10

  • Spread: Notre Dame -7 (-113, BetRivers)
  • Moneyline: Notre Dame (-210, theScore Bet)
  • Game Total: 55 (Over -108/Under -112, Caesars)

The loss to the Cougars aside, Notre Dame has looked like a well-rounded contender capable of making a deep run in the playoffs. The Fighting Irish's odds of winning the National Championship reflect that notion, jockeying with the Georgia Bulldogs at the top of the oddsboard for the title.

Miami, on the other hand, has managed to remain unscathed while navigating a favorable schedule. The acquisition of Darian Mensah has helped turn the Hurricanes offense into one of the most efficient units in the nation, with the former Duke QB leading the field in success rate.

Even with Miami firing on all cylinders, oddsmakers believe negative regression is looming large over the Hurricanes in their toughest test to date, opening Notre Dame at -3.5 on the look-ahead line. Bettors were quick to back the Fighting Irish after last week’s results, steaming the spread up to as high as -7.5 in some sportsbooks.

Prediction & Pick For Miami vs. Notre Dame Week 10 Matchup

  • The Pick: Notre Dame -7 (-113, BetRivers)

The downfall of Arch Manning and Dante Moore has been CJ Carr’s gain, with the Notre Dame QB rivaling Jeremiah Smith to be the first overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Carr’s poise and pinpoint accuracy have elevated the Fighting Irish offense, a group that ranks in the top 10 in success rate, finishing drives and havoc allowed.

While the lack of explosiveness is a cause for concern, Carr has been able to keep Notre Dame consistently ahead of the sticks by picking apart the gaps in coverage. When the Fighting Irish are in scoring position, points have been put up on the board at a high rate, averaging 5.03 points per opportunity.

In a highly anticipated matchup against Miami, Carr will be able to continue to keep a clean sheet while airing out the ball, taking advantage of a secondary that struggles to create disruptions, per the Hurricanes' below-league-average mark in havoc. With Miami incapable of tightly covering Notre Dame’s pass-catchers, the quality of Carr’s throws will drastically improve while he weaves the ball through wide-open windows.

On the other side of the ball, Mensah will be under a relentless amount of pressure while battling it out against a Fighting Irish defense that ranks 22nd in success rate and eighth in havoc. Malachi Toney’s injury will also make it easier for Leonard Moore to lock down one side of the field, allowing Notre Dame’s second level to spread across the middle and smother Mensah’s passing lanes.

Best Player Prop Bet For Miami vs. Notre Dame

Mark Fletcher Jr. - u64.5 Rushing Yards (-114, FanDuel)

Since the start of the regular season, Mark Fletcher Jr. has steadily regressed, averaging less than 4.0 yards per carry in his last two starts. While Fletcher was able to find the end zone twice against North Carolina, the Hurricanes RB still underwhelmed in the middle of the field, generating just 43 yards on 13 attempts.

Heading into Saturday’s matchup against Notre Dame, Fletcher will continue to struggle to break out of the trenches while running up the gut of a front seven that resides near the top of the board in rush success rate and in PPA. With Miami expected to play from behind, the Hurricanes may also revert to a pass-heavy game script to try to keep pace, chipping away at Fletcher’s workload, which will increase his chances of staying under the total on his rushing yardage prop.
