Week 9 Dynasty Fantasy Football Mailbag

Ravens players … abandon ship?

I'm going to be honest, it's looking pretty bleak in Baltimore for your fantasy assets. The loss of Lamar Jackson is going to have ripple effects across this entire organization, starting with the offensive skill position players. However, if you have either Derrick Henry and/or Zay Flowers, you're probably not in a position where you have many better options.

This offense is still going to do its best to feature its top playmakers (Henry & Flowers), so while I would adjust/ lower my expectations for these two stars, I will continue to start them wherever I have them.

Who has more value: Tyler Allgeier or Mike Washington?

The recent news that Jeremiyah Love (ankle) will be placed on Injured Reserve makes this a pretty easy question to answer. Tyler Allgeier is coming off a week that saw him turn 16 touches into 191 scrimmage yards and 2 TDs. Now he's set for lead-back duties for at least the next month, which bodes well for his fantasy outlook.

Looking at his career, Allgeier has been quite productive when given the opportunity and he now has a clear runway to produce for fantasy managers once again.

At the same time, we can't ignore what Mike Washington did last weekend. However, the presence of Ashton Jeanty, especially his involvement in the passing game, will cap Washington's ceiling more than what we would see with Allgeier in Arizona.

Is Jaylen Waddle becoming a viable WR3/Flex option?

I'll be honest, I don't feel great about Jaylen Waddle. He has just 2 TDs on the season and doesn't have more than 4 receptions in any of his last four games. He also has just one game with more than 50 receiving yards.

That all adds up to someone I don't feel comfortable slotting into my lineup, outside of a fill-in for bye weeks or injuries.

Candidly, Waddle has been disappointing this season relative to preseason expectations. His first season in Denver was supposed to result in giving Bo Nix a trueNo. 1 wideout who could also produce top-end numbers for fantasy managers.

I still believe in the talent, and Waddle could very well be a buy-low candidate in dynasty formats, but the production just hasn't been there this season.

Do you think Jonathan Taylor gets traded?

I do believe Jonathan Taylor gets traded before the NFL Trade Deadline. The Colts have already signaled that they're looking to the future and other players, despite not being considered marquee trade targets (Josh Downs), have proactively asked to be traded.

As for Taylor, the Colts have reportedly already received an offer for Taylo, but it remains to be seen what exactly they're looking for in terms of assets coming back. Ultimately, Taylor is not a free agent for two more seasons so the Colts could stand pat and see what happens next season.

Who do you feel better about for the rest of the season, Omar Cooper or Adonai Mitchell?

A quick glance at our Rest of Season Rankings will show you just how close our rankers have these two talented wideouts:

I tend to lean with our rankers and would prefer the up-and-coming rookie in Cooper. After a brief stint on Injured Reserve (ankle), Cooper posted consecutive 100+ receiving yard/ 1-TD performances but he fell flat last weekend.

Even so, the early returns are positive. The 30th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft boasts 4.42-second speed and a 6-foot, 199-pound frame that allows him to excel in all areas of the field.

Is Chase Brown no longer viable as an RB1? Is he the type of RB we can now trade in dynasty or re-draft as part of a 2-for-1 package for an RB1 upgrade?

This might surprise you a bit, but in our Rest of Season Rankings our rankers have Chase Brown slotted as the RB11 so … RB1 status is still very much in play.

Candidly, the results have not been what fantasy managers hoped for when they drafted Brown a few months back. In seven games, Brown has just 1 TD (Week 1) and is averaging less than 3.7 yards per carry.

His involvement in the passing game is doing the heavy lifting in terms of keeping his fantasy value afloat, but he'll need to start finding the end zone if he's to return on his RB11 ranking for the rest of the season.

Any top trade targets for next season and beyond?

Here's a fun name for you … rookie TE Eli Raridon for the New England Patriots.

Both A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, the top-projected weapons in this offense heading into this season, have either spent time or are currently on Injured Reserve. Even veteran TE Hunter Henry went down with a foot injury this past weekend so we'll have to monitor his status moving forward.

As for Raridon, he's had 4+ targets in three of his last four games. That doesn't sound like a lot for a depth around a rookie TE, but after a disastrous start to the season, Drake Maye and this Patriots offense have started to look more like how we thought they would this season.

Raridon is not someone I would anticipate starting anytime soon, unless you are truly desperate and are chasing TD-upside. However, he's a worthy stash in deeper dynasty fantasy football formats as he continues to learn and grow into his role this season.
